Mission: Strip the floors in time for a Mardi Gras 2022 and a big meeting hosted by the property management company

Forgotten during Covid, the terrazzo floors at New Orleans Car Rental Terminal had seen better days. With the restrictions and small staff everyone experienced, proper floor care stopped. The floors needed TLC.

Things started off well until… we started working in the main section of the floor. This space was 70,000 sq ft of terrazzo. Each area had to be STRIPPED 3X. So it’s safe to say our project deadline was blown.

There were years’ worth of old wax to strip. The overnight, in-house janitor just mopped and waxed the floor every week. That’s a big No-No in floor maintenance.

A simple rule to follow….I must SCRUB or STRIP a floor before I wax it!!!

This rule was broken 100s of times which lead to tons of buildup, EVERYWHERE. Under benches, in the high traffic walkways, at the counters, EVERYWHERE!
